  First Dawn Patrol

As told by Kevin Lee:

It was a nice calm cool clear Sat morning.  This was our first Dawn Patrol for 2005
this pic caught Jim & Ron flying at my 9 o'clock

Jim called late Fri night,  said how about we do a Dawn Patrol to Tri-County, at Savanna IL.
So I flew from my strip over to Erie IL. Sat morning about 6:30am to hook up with Jim , Ron,  Des, & Alice.
We left Erie at 7 am , a nice 25-minute flight.  Dan met us there in his Cessna , as he flew in a few minutes late, coming from Clinton IA.

Ron and Jim just taxied up.

Our planes lined up

My bird,  she looks pretty huh?

I'm headed west, getting ready to fly across the  Mississippi  back home.

I'm just 2 miles down the gravel road you can see in middle of pic on other side of the river

Looking at the homestead, home is hidden in the trees,   YOU can see the grass strip running thru the hay field up to my hanger

The Dawn patrol went off great!

We had 4 planes and 6 flyers.

Flyers were Jim and Ron, Des and Alice, Kevin and Dan.  Kevin flew over from His
strip to fly up with us, and Dan met us at Thompson.  We landed on 31 and
went over to the club house for breakfast.  The club house was locked up
so we had a picnic on the ground. I had a thermos of coffee and some
donuts and cookies in my plane.  The flight home was great with calm
winds and clear skies.

Next week we will be flying into Geneseo.
Wheels up at 7:00am.  Join us.  We will be back in time for the club
meeting.  Jim R., squadron leader, at an Eerie place.
